i. Details of the event/activity
The "Labor Education for
Graduating CCS" webinar took place on June 5, 2024, from 8:00 AM to 11:00
AM, conducted via Zoom and streamed on Facebook Live. The event featured two
resource speakers: Mr. Arvin Fabunan, Senior Labor Employment Officer from the
Department of Labor and Employment Zambales Office, and Ms. Angelica G.
Romblon, Administrative Aide from the Human Resources Management Section of
PESO-Olongapo. The webinar aimed to educate graduating students about labor
standards, employee rights, and career preparation.
ii. Reflections the webinar/activity give rise to (learnings)
This webinar was incredibly
informative and provided a comprehensive understanding of labor laws and career
preparation. Mr. Arvin Fabunan's discussion on labor standards and labor
relations in the Philippines was enlightening. He detailed the natural rights
of employers and employees, which clarified many aspects of the workplace
environment and legal protections. Ms. Angelica G. Romblon covered the role of
the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) and its various programs. Her
insights into career planning and exploration, resume creation, and interview
do's and don'ts were particularly valuable for someone about to enter the job
market.
iii. Reflections on possibilities on
implementing some of the webinar input on a practical level.

The knowledge gained from this webinar
can be directly applied to my job search and future employment. Understanding
labor standards and employee rights ensures I can navigate my professional life
with awareness and confidence, safeguarding my rights while respecting my
obligations. The career planning strategies shared by Ms. Romblon have given me
a clearer direction on how to approach my career goals. Her practical tips on
resume creation and interview etiquette will be instrumental in presenting myself
effectively to potential employers, enhancing my chances of securing a job that
aligns with my skills and aspirations.
iv. Positive feedback (on the event organization)
The event was well-organized and
efficiently conducted. Both speakers were engaging and presented their topics
clearly and concisely. The use of Zoom and Facebook Live made the event
accessible and interactive, allowing for real-time engagement and feedback. The
information was relevant and tailored to the needs of graduating students,
making it a highly beneficial session.
v. Suggestions for improvements to be made/ consider for future
activities
One thing
to consider would be having specific resource speakers for potential careers
for each department. This would help participants grasp the career paths
available in their respective fields and provide more targeted guidance.
