The GC OSWS conducted a Employment Enhancement Webinar titled "Transforming from College to Career: Soft Skills for Success" took place on May 31, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM via Zoom. The webinar featured Mr. Brian Carl Hipolito, the Senior HR Officer of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) in Beijing, China, as the resource speaker. Mr. Hipolito shared valuable insights on transitioning from college to a successful career, focusing on essential soft skills needed for the workplace.

ii. Reflections the webinar/activity give rise to (learnings)

Mr. Hipolito covered several key areas that are crucial for new graduates entering the job market. He emphasized how to present oneself during an interview, providing tips on how to effectively sell our skills and experiences. His advice on highlighting our strengths and standing out to potential employers was particularly helpful. Additionally, he discussed professional behavior in the workplace, which is essential for maintaining a positive and productive work environment. The session also included practical tips on creating a compelling resume, which will be invaluable as I start applying for jobs.

iii. Reflections on possibilities on implementing some of the webinar input on a practical level.

The knowledge gained from this webinar can be directly applied to my job search and future career. With Mr. Hipolito's tips, I feel more confident about how to present myself during interviews, focusing on my strengths and unique skills. I now understand the importance of tailoring my resume to highlight my most relevant experiences and skills.

The event was well-organized and highly informative. Mr. Hipolito's engaging presentation style and the clarity with which he delivered his insights made the content easily understandable. The Q&A session at the end addressed specific concerns and questions from the participants.

v. Suggestions for improvements to be made/ consider for future activities

One thing to consider would be having specific resource speakers for potential careers for each department. This would really help the participants grasp the career path they want in the future.
