I attended the International Research Conference on Information Technology Education (IRCITE) 2024 at Wesleyan University-Philippines in Cabanatuan City. The theme of the conference was "Breaking Barriers and Empowering Change through Global Innovation, Knowledge Engineering, and Diversity-centered Research." This event featured a variety of competitions including Research Paper Presentation, Technical Content Writing, Digital Arts, Video Editing, IT Marketing Challenge, Microsoft Office Specialist, Cosplay Showdown, and Hataw Sayaw. I participated in the Research Paper Presentation competition under the Information Technology category, presenting my capstone project titled "CommuniCare: A Social Community Extension Platform for the Gordon College Community Extension Services Unit Using Laravel Framework."

ii. Reflections the webinar/activity give rise to (learnings)

Participating in the Research Paper Presentation competition provided me with significant insights into the diverse approaches and methodologies used by my peers in their respective projects. The experience underscored the importance of thorough research, clear presentation, and the ability to answer critical questions about one's work. I learned from the feedback of judges and the discussions that followed each presentation, which helped me see the strengths and areas for improvement in my own research. This competition highlighted the value of collaboration and knowledge exchange in advancing the field of Information Technology Education.

iii. Reflections on possibilities on implementing some of the webinar input on a practical level.
(Practical application of learnings)

The insights gained from the IRCITE 2024 can be practically implemented in various ways. For instance, the constructive feedback on my "CommuniCare" project highlighted potential enhancements in user interface design and feature integration, which I plan to incorporate. Additionally, understanding the diverse topics and innovative solutions presented by other competitors has inspired me to explore interdisciplinary approaches and incorporate more community-centric elements into my future projects. The event emphasized the need for continual learning and adaptation, crucial for driving effective change in technology education and community service.

iv. Positive feedback (on the event organization)

The organization of IRCITE 2024 was commendable. The event ran smoothly, with clear communication from the organizers regarding schedules and competition guidelines. The venue at Wesleyan University-Philippines was well-equipped, providing an excellent environment for presentations and discussions. The diverse range of competitions allowed participants from different fields of IT to showcase their talents, fostering a rich exchange of ideas and innovations. Even though there was an incident involving fire within the campus, the event organizers still pushed through on finishing the event smoothly. Overall, the conference was a well-executed platform for knowledge sharing and professional development.

v. Suggestions for improvements to be made/ consider for future activities

While the event was highly successful, there are a few areas for potential improvement. Providing more structured opportunities for participants to explore other competitions would enhance the learning experience. This could include scheduled breaks or guided tours of different competition areas. Additionally, incorporating more interactive sessions or workshops focused on emerging technologies and practical skills could further enrich the conference. Giving out specific time slots for presenters would allow them to participate in other activities and enjoy the event fully.
