Santos Medical Center in Manila. Dr. Dela Rosa shared his expertise on the role
of AI in the health sector, its benefits, pros and cons, economic implications,
and how AI is utilized at Cardinal Santos Medical Center.
ii. Reflections the webinar/activity give rise to (learnings)
This seminar provided a comprehensive
understanding of the integration of AI in the health sector. Dr. Dela Rosa's
explanation of what AI is and how it functions in the Philippines was
enlightening. He detailed the significant benefits of AI, such as improved
diagnostic accuracy and enhanced patient care. The discussion on the pros and
cons of AI provided a balanced perspective, highlighting both its potential to
revolutionize healthcare and the challenges it poses. Additionally, Dr. Dela
Rosa shed light on the economic issues that AI might bring, which was a
critical consideration for future implementation. Learning about the practical
application of AI at Cardinal Santos Medical Center, particularly in their
hospital equipment and systems, was particularly fascinating and underscored
the real-world impact of these technologies.
iii. Reflections on possibilities on
implementing some of the webinar input on a practical level.
(Practical application of learnings)
As a BSIT student, the insights from
this seminar opened up exciting possibilities for practical applications in
local health systems. The idea of developing AI solutions for healthcare is
both challenging and inspiring. I can envision working on projects that
integrate AI into local health facilities, perhaps starting with simpler
applications like AI-driven diagnostic tools or patient management systems.
iv. Positive feedback (on the event organization)
The event was well-organized and
effectively delivered. Dr. Dela Rosa's expertise and clear presentation style
made complex topics accessible and engaging. The seminar's structure, starting
with foundational concepts and progressing to real-world applications, ensured
a comprehensive learning experience. The use of a virtual platform facilitated
participation and interaction, making the seminar inclusive and interactive. Despite it being a Free seminar, the organizers gave out freebies, food and beverages for each participant.
v. Suggestions for improvements to be made/ consider for future
activities
Including case
studies or testimonials from healthcare professionals who have implemented AI
in their practices could provide additional practical insights. Also, having
Professional Developers that have integrated A.I. on Health Systems would greatly
enhance the understanding of the participants
